Terms of Use & Osmo Plus

These terms are between you, the parent or guardian setting up Osmo, and Neobound AI. By setting up Osmo you agree to them on your own behalf and for your child.

1. Using Osmo

Osmo is a science and technology news reader for children aged about 5 to 14. The daily edition is free. A parent or guardian sets it up, agrees to these terms and the Privacy Policy, and remains responsible for the child's use of the app. Osmo is for personal, family and classroom use.

2. Our stories

Each story is based on an article from a named science or technology publisher. Osmo rewrites it in simpler words with the help of artificial intelligence, using only facts from the original article, and a person from our team approves every story before it appears in the app. Every story names its original publisher and links to the original article. AI and people can still make mistakes: please use Something wrong with this story? in the app or contact us, and we will correct or remove the story quickly. Osmo is for learning and curiosity. It is not professional, medical or safety advice.

3. Osmo Plus subscription

• What it is: an optional subscription that adds the full story archive, stories in Indian languages, natural-sounding narration (computer-generated speech), printable worksheets and a weekly bonus challenge. The free daily edition stays free.
• Who can buy it: only a parent or guardian, after the grown-ups-only check. Purchases are made with Google Play and charged to the Google account on the device.
• Price: shown in your local currency on the purchase screen before you pay, including any taxes Google Play adds. Plans are monthly or yearly.
• Free trial: where offered, the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You are charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. One trial per Google account.
• Automatic renewal: Plus renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. Google Play tells you in advance about any price increase.
• Cancelling: any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Osmo, or from Grown-ups → Osmo Plus → Manage in the app. Plus stays active until the end of the period already paid for. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Osmo data does not cancel the subscription.
• Refunds: handled under Google Play's refund policy. If something went wrong, email us and we will help, including asking Google to refund where appropriate.
• Restoring: if you reinstall or change phone, use Grown-ups → Osmo Plus → Restore purchase with the same Google account.
• Access codes: we sometimes give a free access code (for example to app-store reviewers, schools or pilot families). A code unlocks complimentary Plus on that device for a limited time, involves no payment and never renews into a paid subscription.
• Changes to Plus: we may add, change or retire Plus features. If we remove a major feature during a paid period, we will offer a pro-rata refund on request.

4. What you may not do

Don't copy, resell or republish Osmo's stories, artwork or characters outside the app without permission, try to break or overload the service, or misuse the report feature. Classroom display and printing worksheets for your own students is fine.

5. Ownership and credits

The Osmo app, the Osmo character, artwork and the rewritten stories belong to Neobound AI. Original articles and their images belong to their publishers and are shown with credit and a link. See Credits & licences for the open-source software and fonts Osmo uses.

6. No ads, no chat

Osmo has no advertising, no third-party tracking, and no way for users to contact each other.

7. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Osmo running and accurate, but it is provided "as is" for learning. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India) and the consumer laws of your country.

8. Ending

You can stop using Osmo and delete your data at any time. We may suspend a profile that misuses the service.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim in your own country.
