Osmo: Science News for Kids is owned and published by Neobound AI.
How stories are made
- Osmo reads new articles every hour from science and technology publishers such as NASA, ESA, ScienceDaily, MIT News, Science News Explores, Space.com, Live Science, Phys.org and Futurism, through the RSS feeds they publish.
- A word filter and an AI editor remove anything not suitable for children: war, violence, crime, politics or frightening topics. When unsure, the story is left out.
- The AI editor rewrites each suitable story at three reading levels using only facts from the original article. It does not add new facts.
- A person from our team reviews and approves every story before it is published in the app.
- Every story names its original publisher, credits the image and links to the original article. We keep a dated record of every step for every story.
Corrections and complaints
Children and parents can flag any story in the app. A story flagged as scary is removed at once; any story flagged twice is removed until a person checks it again. You can also email us, and publishers can ask us to remove their article at any time.
