Some people make copies of famous products and pretend they are the real thing. A startup called Veritas has made a small chip that can be tucked inside a product without damaging it. Brands can use the chip to check whether an item is genuine. Veritas is now putting its chip into jewellery, trophies and perfume bottles. It was started by Luci Holland, who used to design products at Tesla.
