Copies of famous brands, sometimes so good they are called superfakes, are a growing problem. A startup called Veritas is tackling it with its own chip that verifies goods. The chip is built to be inserted into a product without harming it, so a brand can confirm an item is genuine and customers can show it is real. Veritas has now expanded the chip to jewellery, trophies and fragrance bottles. The company was founded by Luci Holland, a former Tesla technical product manager with a background in design and art.
